Dipodium punctatum (Blotched Hyacinth Orchid), found in a paddock. |
Some interesting information about this plant: 'This orchid is from the saprophytic group, which means they exist totally on a soil borne fungus for survival, they also have no leaves and are impossible to grow as the fungus needs to be constantly replaced by surrounding natural vegetation. It is in many areas of NSW.' Thanks to Alan Stephenson from the Australian Native Orchid Association (http://www.anos.org.au/) for this information. This reminded me that God only makes beautiful, perfect things and of how totally amazing, how much attention to detail, how precise and specific God is!
